Post by najmulislam2012seo »

junior gold cupThe National Junior Gold Cup Tournament winds down this Sunday when Illawarra hosts the Central Coast in the final Round 6 matches at WIN Stadium. It’s been a long, intense 5 month program for our young players but none the less has proved to be very beneficial for all concerned. The Illawarra coaching staff couldn’t be happier with the effort all the players have put into the program. Although both sides are yet to register a win in the tournament, both squads have impressed with the improvement in attitude and intensity they have displayed as the program has progressed.

Under 15 Coach Tony Leeder-Smith is hopeful his side can phone number library finish on a high with a win against their Central Coast rivals. “The JGC program for the 15’s has been a great learning experience for the boys where they have pushed themselves way outside of their comfort zone each week at training and in matches.” said Tony. “This is what we set out to achieve when we started way back in November. A win against the Coasties would be just reward for all the players. All the boys will go back to their respective rugby clubs better players for being in the program.”

Likewise Under 17 Coach, Jay Tregonning couldn’t be happier with the manner in which his players have applied themselves throughout the program. “It’s been a long program, the likes of which the boys have not experienced before. Their effort at training has been excellent. We could have and probably should have won our 2 away games against Sydney West and Western NSW but it was not to be. I know the boys are very keen to finish with a win this week. They deserve to finish the program with a win and I know they will be giving their best.”
